The Sunstone Pro-S is a servo-driven resistance weld head designed to provide controlled, repeatable weld performance in production and development environments. The system incorporates a servo actuator with integrated force and displacement monitoring to enable closed-loop control of the weld process. These monitoring capabilities support verification of weld parameters and improved process control and consistency.

The servo drive architecture of the Pro-S provides precise control of electrode motion throughout the weld cycle, offering improved repeatability compared to pneumatic-powered weld heads. Positional displacement accuracy of up to 60 microns enables consistent electrode placement and controlled material deformation. This level of motion control supports tighter process tolerances and improved weld repeatability across high-volume production and critical applications.
Integrated Force Monitoring for Full Process Verification
The Pro-S provides adjustable weld force from 1.8 to 29.2 pounds (8 to 130 newtons), supporting a broad range of materials and joint geometries. Integrated force feedback, displacement feedback, and pull positional monitoring allow continuous measurement of key weld parameters. These data outputs can be used to validate weld consistency, detect process variation, and support quality assurance and process optimization initiatives.
Flexible Configuration for Diverse Applications
Configured in an opposed weld head arrangement, the Pro-S is suitable for both automated production systems and bench-top or laboratory use. The weld head provides a 2-inch (50 mm) stroke to accommodate varying part sizes and tooling configurations. A rotary knob height adjustment enables repeatable mechanical setup, while multiple electrode configuration options support application-specific tooling requirements.
